F9 Kits Volume 1 contains 57 genre-spanning drum kits.

The idea was simple - create the best-sounding, contemporary kits that hit hard out of the gate, but aren't smashed to pieces like so many. You get the power and an instant sense of inspirational groove, while still having enough headroom to put your own personal signature on them.

Perfectly formatted for Ableton Live 12, Logic Pro 10.8 onwards, Kontakt 7, MPC V3, MPC Sample, WAV & SFZ, this is the fastest way to start your next session.

All formats are included in a single ZIP file, together with the user manual in six languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch). 

It also unlocks fully inside F9 Beat Machine, giving you full access to your sounds on any laptop, computer or full-sized tablet connected to the internet.

F9 Beat Machine

F9 Beat Machine is one of the most fully featured online drum machines in the world, offering per-step control of velocity, pitch, pan, position, ratchets and probability, and even polyrhythmic sequencing on all 16 of its channels.

Each pad is up to 8x round-robin capable and has a dedicated EQ, filter, preamp, vintage voice emulation (8 and 12 bit) and a convolution reverb. There's excellent sample editing built in too.

Full 16-channel stereo stem rendering comes as standard, and you can even export your chosen swing as a MIDI file or an Ableton groove, with plenty more truly useful features on the roadmap.

Log in to your F9 account and launch F9 Beat Machine now. If you own F9 Kits Volume 1 or F9 Galaxy, all of the kits will be unlocked and waiting for you, along with all of the individual drum sounds in the drum library.

Built for Ableton Live 12

The kits are built for Ableton Live 12 and organised by genre. Every kit comes as an Ableton Drum Rack (.adg) with a matching clip file (.alc). Drag the clip onto an empty MIDI track and it loads the kit and a demo sequence together, so you can start creating straight away.

All 16 macros are mapped across the whole kit, covering low- and high-pass filters, buss drive and bite, glue compression, air and presence EQ, and a tuned low-end control.

Each rack also includes macro variation presets and a randomise button for quick inspiration. Double-click any cell to open its sub-rack and Simpler for deeper editing, sample trimming, routing and choke groups.

The pack also includes Drum Menus, which map one type of drum sound across your keyboard.

Straight into Logic Pro's Library

The kits come as ready-made Logic Pro patches built on Drum Machine Designer, organised by kit type and available straight from Logic's Library. Each kit has its own Smart Controls for EQ, maximising compression, output filters, stereo width and level, so you can shape the whole kit without opening a single plugin. The plugin chain also leaves room for your own Audio Unit effects, making it easy to add your favourite processing to any kit.

The pack uses Apple Loops in a clever way. Every kit and pattern has an Apple Loop preview, so you can audition the sounds and grooves directly in Logic's Loop Browser.

Drag a preview onto an empty instrument track and it loads the full kit together with its sequence, so you can start creating instantly. MIDI files are also included for every kit, ready to drag and drop from Finder or from Logic's browser.

All loops are tempo-locked, including the breakbeat and percussion extras, so they follow your project tempo.

Full MPC V3 Track Support

MPC V3 has brought amazing power to the system, and the new track format means we can deliver the sequences directly as you load the kit - just turn on Load Sequence in the browser to bring in the kit and its sequence together. The expansion loads into the MPC software and is easily transferred to standalone MPCs.

Powered by the audio engine that made MPC legendary, the F9 kits shine. Full 8x round robin is enabled on several kits thanks to MPC's extended layers, and every kit has a full complement of 16 Q-Link macros covering the most important aspects of the kit sound, giving you the instant, tweakable connections you need. All loops are tempo-locked, so they work at any tempo.

MPC Sample owners get a completely separate folder, with everything converted for the MPC Sample.

Kontakt 7 Onwards

Our latest drum kit Kontakt UI brings plugin-like power to the kits in this pack. All of the main controls visible below are available per pad, recallable in a session, and nearly all can be automated.

Per-pad controls include bitcrushing lo-fi, high- and low-pass filters (with overdrive), transient processing and a handy 3-band EQ, as well as individual sends for the plate and room reverbs and the vintage-styled delay.

Want to change a parameter for the whole kit? Just hold down Option/Alt and the change is made to every pad.

Our infamous Sound Menus are included for Kontakt too.

Please note: the Kontakt portion of the pack requires a full install of Kontakt. It will not work in the free Kontakt Player, as Player licensing is not possible at this price point.

Drag the Sequence from the Kontakt UI into Your Session

This icon on the Kontakt interface lets you pick up the sequence data created for each individual kit and drop it onto your DAW instrument track. It's the most elegant way to pick up the sequences we've created for each of the kits.

WAV and SFZ 

Every kit is also supplied as 24-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV files and SFZ instruments with pad numbering, ( including folders for round-robin sequencing,) so the pack works in any DAW, sampler or hardware that reads them and are easily added to hardware devices. The kits are organised by genre:
